The Trapp family, of The Sound of Music fame, fled Austria after the Nazi takeover and settled in the mountains of Vermont. Later, amid the picturesque surroundings, they began operating their home as a resort and ski lodge.
I briefly visited the lodge to see what it was like during my leaf peeping tour of fall 2013. I did feel as if I’d entered a portal that transported me to the beautiful Austrian Alps.
What surprised me, though, was the ranch with grazing bulls. With the fall colors, mountains, and clouds in the background, I thought it made for an interesting composition.
By day, I’m a web programmer. When I’m not on the clock, I find peace in exploring natural and architectural marvels. My love of photography is an inevitable extension of that.
Through photography, I’m more than a passive observer of the world. I’m indulging both my creative fancy and my technical acumen.
I created this site, Jasonian Photography (a play on Smithsonian), to share the results.
