If I walk the Rock Creek Trail along the Potomac River as the sun falls beneath the horizon, the sight of Georgetown Harbor with the sky aglow behind it enraptures me. The silhouettes of the Gothic cathedral at Georgetown University and the smokestacks, looming above the rows of lights on the boardwalk and the bridge, make the scene one of the District’s most striking.
This was a welcome finale to an evening spent shooting cherry blossoms, pretty as they are; it was nice to do something different!
